I believe in myself, in spite of the moments of doubt and, at the end of the day, I believe in the choices I have made. And if those choices lead me down a path I’m not satisfied with, I believe in second chances.
I believe the quality of your friendships is more important than the number. Cherish the friends who have been by your side, had your back, and supported you through everything. Everyone needs friends like those and I’m beyond grateful for mine.
I believe in finding time to read. I believe breathing salty beach air is the greatest cure for sadness.
I believe in laughing so hard you can’t breathe.
I believe everyone should travel. Solo travel, with a partner, with family, with friends. Just go. I believe in discovering new destinations, whether around the corner or across the globe. I believe in saying “please” and “thank you” in the language of the country I’m visiting. But when words fail me otherwise I know a smile is understood in any language.
I believe in having a “why” for visiting a place, even if that reason is just because a single photo inspired wanderlust.
I believe that we should never stop learning. For me, this means reading, learning new languages, and listening to others. It’s amazing how much you can learn when you simply take the time to listen to what someone’s stories and opinions. I also believe we can connect and change the world little by little just by listening to each other.
I believe there’s no such thing as a guilty pleasure. I like the things I like, you like the things you like and there’s no shame in any of it.
I believe in telling the truth.
I believe in kindness.
And most of all, I believe in me.
